Spotlight Foundation

Charity has always been an important part of our family and community life. My late father, and Spotlight’s founder, Ruben Fried started the Spotlight Foundation with his business partner and my uncle Morry Fraid in 2006, with the aim of assisting those in need.

The Spotlight Foundation was set up to specifically empower women and children through community development, health services, education and the Arts in Australia and overseas.

Our Foundation supports more than 50 organisations across a range of specialties, from medical research, health and welfare to the arts and education. It is my great honour to continue this mission of assisting organisations that are improving the quality of life of our community both locally and overseas.

Spotlight also assists the community at a store level, by providing gift vouchers and in-kind support for local organisations including childcare centres, kindergartens, schools, churches and community groups, which are local to many of Spotlight’s stores.

No matter whether our support is large or small, financial or in-kind, the aim is, and will continue to be, to keep within the broader Spotlight family’s ethos of giving to those who need it most.
